Oakland native singer-songwriter Satya has an unspoken way of touching on the emotions of her fans, by communicating her experiences as a 20-year-old woman in today’s tumultuous society solely through music. With a passion for connecting to other people through songwriting, Satya has created a lyrical foundation which speaks to others and helps mend their emotional wounds. “Music to me is very therapeutic, it doesn’t always have to be perfect, it’s allowed to be rough around the edges,” says Satya, which signifies her carefree personality and her authentic lyrics in her songs. Satya’s biggest inspirations are Sade and Corinne Bailey Rae, both of which have helped shape who she is as an artist today.

My gift to all of you is a cover of the song 'She Dances' by the amazing Billie Marten. I have always kept this song close to my heart. There’s something so grounding, and soothing about this song. When I first heard this song, the lyrics immediately resonated with me. One line Billie Marten says is: "She is like the trees, the sun that creeps through my window. She knows her body, the kind that turns you into gold." when I first heard these lyrics I was like wowww this is describing exactly how I aspire to be, Free, warm, open, connected, and bold.
