Daniel Barber

Across Daniel’s circuitous career from social work to quantitative research design and statistics, video production, political activism and music, Daniel Barber has worked with many smart, large-hearted and wise people as they’ve applied themselves to our collective challenges.

One of his enduring questions has always been, how do we get from where we are to where we want to be? He has come to think that "how" question is, ultimately, unproductive.

He proposes a better question is "What do I do now?" That question tends to wake us up and point us in the direction of the world we want to see (and/or the way we want to be).

It gets us out of our heads and plants us in the present, where creation begins. And of course, sound-making is profoundly creative, connective, generative and catalyzing.

When we align mindful awareness with the use of sound, it matters in ways that are impossible to measure.

Daniel, whose spirit name is Two Trees, is in the business of living musically and he works primarily with people who yearn for that, too.

Since 2015 he has been working with individuals and groups using a 6-phase process he designed called TAP the Flow that integrates mindful presence practice with a unique musical improvisation modality that helps people engage their authenticity, realize and liberate their unique offerings, and claim their naturally powerful place in the world.
